ideation sketches for various solutions
A relook at the Ambulance system reveals many opportunities for improvements that can save lives...

As my Thesis project in my final year at Ohio State University; I researched the current market options for EMTs specifically regarding the Ambulance. I was shocked at the common environment that most EMTs work in. There were ineffective production methods that constantly created short comings for the EMTs during care for their patients.

When developing solutions, I focused on the problematic storage methods. Where long glass doors and other various primitive storage techniques created obstacles when accessing supplies. Additional concerns regarding safety and lighting were also addressed with a few various solutions. Seatbelts were modified to adapt to the needed flexibility while keep the individual EMTs safe in a possible collision. Lighting in most current Ambulances is surprisingly basic overhead lighting which created heavy shadows. With LED technology today, lighting sources from surrounding areas provided a more effective glow lighting nature in the cabin. Solutions proposed provide a more effective and efficient alternative to the system EMTs currently use.
“The problem is that the containers slide around inside of the cabinet and jam up the doors” -EMT
